Nicole Kidman, Ringo Starr & Ray Dalio talk about their experience of Transcendental Meditation

preston-lindsayIn February, Nicole Kidman told InStyle Magazine about her long term practice of Transcendental Meditation:

“I like to meditate, Transcendental Meditation usually. I took it up in my early 20s and I learned the benefits. I try to do it every day. A typical session is 20 to 30 minutes. I even use a meditation app on my phone that has a timer and also shows you on a map all the people that have logged in that are meditating at that very moment.” ran a story quoting Ray Dalio the founder of the worlds largest hedge fund, Bridgewater Associates:

“[Transcendental] Meditation more than any other factor has been the secret to whatever success I’ve had,” said Ray Dalio.

“If there’s stress sometimes, I’ll just break away and go into meditation and it just washes off,” Dalio told Sorkin. “With meditation, you just come into equanimity and you know things are going to come at you, and you accept that.”

preston-lindsayPreston Lindsay, from Standard Journal recently wrote an inspiring article titled “My experience with meditation”. :

“The effects of Transcendental Meditation already bear fruit. I have found that as the stress melts away I have more patience, more understanding, am less sensitive to the usual emotional triggers and have an abiding joy and peace that won’t depart.

On visiting a close friend’s house, he said, “You’re different. I don’t know what it is … you’re just different.”

I am, and will never be the same.

Imagine experiencing good will to all people without labels or affiliations, even if you know they wish you failure and misery.

It all melts away like the morning mist, and you are left with pure bliss.”

Lastly, Rolling Stone posted an article in January as Ringo Starr celebrated his birthday with his buddy David Lynch and accepted an award for a “Lifetime of Peace and Love”:

For his 68th birthday last night, director David Lynch threw a party for Ringo Starr. More precisely, the David Lynch Foundation for Consciousness-Based Education and World Peace gave Starr the not-made-up-at-all “Lifetime of Peace and Love Award.” Which meant that Lynch’s foundation wanted to honor the peace-loving Starr as a pioneer of transcendental meditation and promote their own good works in teaching meditation to school children and military veterans. Since those worthy notions were packaged with an all-star romp through some of Starr’s catalog, the crowd at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles could go home feeling that every one of them had all they needed.
