What is Transcendental Meditation?

Transcendental Meditation is a very simple, effortless, natural technique which is easy to learn and easy to practise. The results of TM come quickly and do not require any particular attitude, belief or lifestyle. Transcendental Meditation is practised for 20 minutes twice a day whilst sitting comfortably with eyes closed.

During the practise, the awareness settles down in a natural and systematic way to experience the most silent and settled state of awareness – Pure Consciousness. At the same time, the body becomes deeply rested and gains a profound state of relaxation.

The experience of Pure Consciousness provides both mind and body with a state of restful alertness, where the physiology is deeply and profoundly rested and relaxed, yet fully alert and awake within. This powerful state of body and mind is what leads to more dynamic and effective activity outside of meditation.

The first step in learning Transcendental Meditation is to attend a free Introductory Talk by a certified TM teacher (90 minutes)
